GLP-1 Psychology · Life beyond the scale

Feel Good. Look Good. Play Good.

Weight is one number. This is a way to define success in your own words: how you want to feel, how you want to see yourself, and what you want your body to let you do. It works with any GLP-1 medicine, and it takes about fifteen minutes.

The three dimensions

Inner

Feel Good

Energy, mood, calm, clear thinking, freedom from food noise. How you feel in your own skin, moment to moment. Nobody else sees it, but it shapes everything else.

Relational

Look Good

Confidence and how you show up in the world, by your own definition. Not a magazine's standard, not a number. The version of yourself you want to see and inhabit.

Experiential

Play Good

What your body lets you do. The walks, adventures, games and moments with people you love that you want to say yes to, instead of watching from the sideline.

A finish lineOne number, one endpoint. Miss it and old doubts come back. Reach it and the motivation fades.
An expanding horizonFeeling, looking and playing good have no ceiling. Your goals grow as you do, which is what a long journey needs.

Step 1 · Meet your future self

It is three years from now.

You have been on your GLP-1 journey for thirty-six months: not just taking a medicine, but building a program, showing up for your goals, and becoming someone you may not yet be able to fully imagine. Close your eyes. Breathe. Then answer as that future version of yourself, not as you hope to feel, but as you actually do.

A guided audio version, in Dr. Rutledge's voice, is on the way.

Adapted from Chapter 7 of Beyond Ozempic by Dr. Tom Rutledge, clinical psychologist. The five people quoted are composite portraits from the book.
